Four days for us. Nice V-Day present for the wife and me.
Let me know how the show was.....
Show was fantastic. They played a solid 2 hour set, and got through damn near every one of their classic songs. There were only a couple songs played that I didn't recognize, so I'm guessing they were some of their newer songs? Mrs. Swirls was annoyed that they didn't play her favorite song, which is Money Talks.

We ended up sitting in the stands only 10 or so rows from the stage (we were on the side, but had a fantastic view). Naturally we were right underneath some of the massive deafening speakers. I had to put in my freebie set of ear plugs after the 2nd or 3rd song, because I knew there was no way I would hear my alarm clock the following morning if my ears were still ringing. Mrs. Swirls switched to ear plugs about halfway through, but then said she was too stubborn and young for them and took them back out. Her ears were still ringing when I left for work earlier this morning.

At the time when I saw Van Halen last year, I thought Eddie Van Halen was the best guitarist that I've ever seen live (before that, it was Paul Stanley). That changed last night. Angus was absolutely incredible, and blew Eddie out of the water. I'm looking forward to seeing Guns & Roses in April to see how a live Slash performance compares to Angus and/or Eddie.

I wouldn't say over rated but i'm not one to say he is the best like many do....he is very good...... i hear both him and his brother are enormous douchebags

I'm kind of regretting not getting tickets for this show, but I've never considered myself much an ACDC fan. Still they are one of those bands I feel like I should go see.

I'm not a huge AC/DC fan either, but they're such an iconic band that you almost feel obligated to go because they are one of the best bands of their generation. They're all at or very close to 60 but are still rocking HARD.

My Van Halen dig made me go in search of guitarist comparisons and I stumbled on this article. Very interesting guitarist poll/bracket thing...

See, I would vote that personally I think Jimi Hendrix is overrated both as a guitarist and as a musician in general. If he didn't OD on heroin and die in his mid-late 20s and actually stayed around for another 15-20 years, then I think he would be worthy of his praise and accolades.

I just don't see how someone who was only performing for 4-5 years could be considered the best ever.

Bring on the backlash.

I can see that. I personally would put Hendrix above EVH. But I'd also put SRV, Clapton, Page and Lifeson above EVH.

I agree that Hendrix is over rated. Look at that bracket though it was set up just so EVH could win. His bracket only has maybe two other heavy weights. Lifeson and Petrucci. Then it's a bunch of also rans really. Then you go to the other bracket with SRV, Hendrix, Clapton, Trucks, Aumann, etc. There's like 10 number one seeds in the left bracket and two in the right. Somehow Brian May beats all those other greats? Please.

Speaking of overrated. Dimebag Darrel? Really? He wouldn't make my top 500.
