The thinking was that it didn't make sense to have them play here after they announced the decision. They would've had a really empty stadium here! Fine by me though. LOL
I think they're saying 2018 for the new LA stadium. I could be wrong though.
Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill, which has 10 locations in Missouri, will run a promotion that lowers domestic draft beer pitchers by $1 each time a team scores against the Rams, who moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles this year.
The bar is calling it the "Slam The Rams" special.
I can't imagine a team remaining in a city after it has announced an impending relocation. Oilers, for example, set up shop in Memphis while their Nashville stadium was being built. Memphians were so underwhelmed that the Titans/Oilers moved over to Vandy's stadium the following season.

The Oilers actually spent a year in Houston after announcing the move (and were apparently planning on spending 3). Houston took to that idea about as well as Memphis did a year later.
What I meant was waiting to announce the relocation until the new city had a permanent home for the team. Give St. Louis another year and commitment to the new stadium may have changed the decision.
Ugh. I just realized exactly how horrible this season is going to be. Jenn is a Patriots fan and loves football (she didn't grow up near and NFL team and has family from New England). I hate the Patriots and am still butt hurt by the NFL. She wants to spend Sundays watching football which would have been awesome before even if she roots for the Patriots but this season is going to be rough.
Maybe I have to dump her. She did at least tell me that she hates Tom Brady but that was probably only because she saw the look on my face when I found out she is a Patriots fan. I probably looked like I was about to get up and walk right out of the restaurant and stick her there with the bill and no ride home.
The San Diego Union-Tribune's Michael Gehlken reports the Chargers recently offered holdout No. 3 overall pick Joey Bosa "their best offer," but Bosa rejected it and talks "are nowhere."
This is past being ridiculous, but it's only getting worse. There was a report earlier this week that the Chargers were willing to give Bosa $10 million of his $17 million signing bonus up front, but that's still not good enough for Bosa's camp. This looks like it could seriously linger into the regular season, and the Chargers have pulled their most recent offer. They also released a public statement, making this a PR war now. In the statement, the team said it'll have to now adjust any further offers because Bosa isn't going to be able to play all 16 regular-season games due to all the missed time. This is getting ugly.
