The Blazers have three bad contracts (Crabbe, Leonard, Turner), and a city where free agents will not come to. If we could clear cap for a yearlong experiment of George, CJ, Lillard, Nurkic, it would be worth a couple firsts.
...in this scenario, as with any other, the W's would have to have one, probably two significant injuries for it to matter even sort of, a little bit, at all, [expletive] you NBA.

The number one pick seems like a good trade chip for landing either.
++++
I'm not saying it won't happen, but as I said earlier, quality is much more valuable than quantity in the NBA.

That's research. What you are posting is anecdotal. Much more lip service-y.
Does what you are saying apply to this draft?
What research? Posting a list of former number one picks?
Oh boy. The 6 minutes of research where I checked basketball-reference for vorp of draft picks over the last 10 years or so. That research.
THE VALUE OF THE NIMBER ONE PICK IN ANY PARTICULAR DRAFT LIES IN WHO THAT GUY IS RIGHT? IN THE DEPTH OF THE TOP TIER OF PLAYERS, NO?
I am not seeing the 2012 clear cut #1 like AD was in this draft. Btw VORP from that draft has AD second to Lillard with Draymond right behind.
I rest my case.

Super dubious argument when the other party is pointing out that there is (almost) no drop off in quaility.
I really rest my case.

Rest it all you want. Every report I've read has Fultz as the clear number one.

i dont know anything but even i would be like "what?"
espn had this in the article
The deal gives the Lakers significant cap room next summer. With close to $60 million off the books by that time after Tuesday's deal, they could chase one or two max free agents.

Teams may be willing to set themselves back five years just to be a blip on Lebron's radar after next season.
