That doesn't bother me. It is all within reason. If I am going to do a big workout later or have something to be sharp for later in the day, i dont drink. I also watch what i eat then too. But if the coast is generally clear, for the afternoon or evening, one beer an hour seems reasonable on a weekend.
W/r/t drinking, I guess I don't worry about being all that productive, except for when I am trying to be productive. Being productive all the damn time is not healthy.
I agree in principle, but I think this is a case of where most people tend to think "moderation" is a little more/less than what we are currently doing. The person working out 1x/week thinks they should probably do it 2-3x/week. The person working out 2-3x/week thinks maybe 4-5. etc etc. So what you see as "all the time" and what I see as "all the time" is likely different. If I hit 2pm on a Saturday with nothing to do, I'd rather work on a project or do an extra workout or a 3 hour hike with 50lbs on my back then sit in front of a computer or tv for 8 hours. (plus I can do those extra things and still chill in front of a computer or tv for like 2-4 hours afterwards) I don't think just sitting/not moving and consuming empty calories for large chunks of the day is healthy.
W/r/t drinking, I'm going to bow out of the thread. I don't want this to seem like I'm harassing people for drinking. Drink or don't drink. You're an adult and I'm not your caretaker. I was just shocked and just couldn't believe that that many people drank that much, but enough people have responded (which I appreciate) that I'm convinced that its very likely that way more people drink way more than I initially thought. (I initially thought most people had 0-1 on weeknights and 1-3 on weekend nights) Makes sense considering how much money alcohol companies seem to have. I still find it hard to believe that drinking that much is "easy" because I just can't imagine consuming that much of anything, but I also understand that when I was 150lbs heavier I used to easily eat 3-4k calories/day. (entire pizzas in one sitting, 6 tacos at once, etc) Also no one seems to believe that my current diet and exercise lifestyle doesn't seem like discipline and is easy for me, so its probably like that. We are allowed to have different life experiences.

I literally might have had 30 drinks in the last 3-4 years. I figured those who did drink regularly might be closer to 5-10/week. I had no idea folks approached that much.
It's by most any standard too much. I'll touch on 'normal' in a second. But, 30 drinks can be accomplished surprisingly easy. Let's say 3 beers on Thursday night after work. 2 beers Friday afternoon before going out to dinner. 2 beers at dinner. 2 beers when you get home and a double shot of bourbon before bed. We're up to 11 with all of saturday and sunday to go. Say 13 beers on a saturday starting at noonish and drinking until about 1 am. That's like a beer an hour and gets you up to 24. Then, a couple mimosas Sunday at brunch and four beers over the course of the afternoon at a pool or something. Wala, you've drank 30 drinks without ever getting out of control and without ever affecting the ability to show up to work Monday-Friday.
It's a pretty constant stream of booze from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, though.
One thing I've wandered a lot about over the last little bit is what is 'normal'? Is it normal to not drink at all? Nothing wrong with that, but it's certainly not 'normal'. Most Americans drink, to some extent, monthly. So, it's normal to drink.
I'm a professional drinker and that's double what I consume in a week. To your question I don't think a constant stream of booze Fri-Sun is normal.

Carrie Nationing aside, I agree that AW’s ETOH intake is concerning, if that’s what youre saying.

I'm not Carrie Nationing anyone, luke, my work is getting people to drink booze.
I don't mean this critically, rather supportively: if you're in a state where you're drinking nonstop for 3 straight days on a regular basis, that is abnormal and unhealthy and you should seek help.
