The funny part is the main reason petro took the deal with LV is they offered him a full no movement clause, which army wouldn’t give

So we get krug and gave him just a NTC

And can’t move him anyway lol

Basically it’s confirmed that krug f#cking the whole deal up

(Faulk isn’t going to be traded as we’re already thin on RHD as it is, and is actually very good/a top 2nd pairing RHD)

I wouldn’t want to waive my NTC to go there either, but hey. I’m a fan of the blues not a player

Ok. The latest… and please read the entire thread. Flyers and Blues have talked about several players. Up to four Flyers NHL players were potentially involved in this discussion.
At one point three were part of the deal.
Sounds like at the moment it’s two - Hayes and Sanheim.

The complication surrounds a Blues player, believed to be Torrey Krug, not willing to waive his NTC to come to the Flyers.
However, Briere is working to see if he can flip Krug to a team for whom he would waive his NTC.
The Flyers would get one of the Blues late first rounders…

Everything Else remains very fluid. Things can still change. Players, picks, money, it’s immensely complicated.
But I am pretty sure the deal won’t fall through and the flyers will get more return.
This is a stupid trade if true…

If they can get krug to agree to a 3rd team, I can see trading him for Sanheim as they make the same amount towards the cap and we throw in our last 1st round pick as he’s the better defenseman than krug.

But no need to take hayes even at 50% retained. He’s terrible defensively, and we have enough forwards with that issue already.

So we’d take him on and our cap would go UP?

Dumb dumb dumb if true….

It would be an interesting trade. Hayes is way overpaid, but less term than krug, and opens playing time for kids. Would fit the 2-3 year reload idea I was thinking.

Edit: now that I think about it and catch-up a bit, hayes at $3.5m-$4m (assuming the salary retention rumors were true) for 3 years is a solid move. The blues do need another top9 and he can put up solid 2nd line numbers. Heh, the second line would be Schenn and the retentionairs with vrana and hayes. Or put Kap on there and it’s the castoffs line.

Sanheim seems like a solid #3/4 dman, which we have a lot of, but that’s a looong deal with another ntc.

So I actually don’t mind half price Hayes for a few years. We need bodies and free agents are expensive and get too much term. Sanheim would be the bigger risk imo with 7 years left on the deal, (that’s a lot of him and Parayko) since we don’t know how well he would fit, though presumably far more than krug.

It’s creative.

The Blues did in fact acquire Hayes for a 6th round pick in 2024. The Flyers are also retaining 50% of his salary.

At 50% salary for 3 years, for just a 6th. Nice move.

3 year reload. Book it.

yes, it's hard not to like this move...6th round pick next year is nothing...and at 50% cost that's a very good price for a bottom 6 center
