Interesting that no other team thought they should take a flier on him.
He's cooked. Arm injuries have taken the talent. He's essentially org filler at this point and not close to worth a 40-man.
When the previous regime internally identified he didn't have the ability to stick as a starter, they should've traded him when he still had a enough prospect shine on him to fetch something worthwhile. Hoping Chaim won't make those type of mistakes.

The biggest question mark and one the reasons why he fell to the Cards in the draft was always that there was doubt throughout baseball if he ever could be a starter. He threw 3 .1 innings per start in 2022, 4.1 innings per start in 2023 and 4 innings per start in 2024 and then more injuries. His prospect ranking was based on the hope that he could be a starting pitcher but at no point did he actually show that ability. The main hope was that the floor was going to be a good reliever with a super high ceiling if he could have put it together as a starter. Arm injuries now made the floor drop out, but thats the issue with pitching prospects.

Yeah that's why I think having a lot of prospects without necessarily a high end guy is better than having a couple of high end pieces and no depth. Obviously the dream is to have both.
