Ok...I'm pretty sure they don't, though. Which probably also factors into why they let him go to begin with, and that probably has something to do with why we shouldn't be expecting any level-headed fans of theirs to be gnashing their teeth and rending their garments based on 4 IP against the Padres.

Over-reactions can be entertaining, I'll admit...a nice little andrenaline rush, or some comedic relief provided by other teams' fans. It's just important to minimize their involvement in more serious discussions/expectations. When those lines are blurred, things start getting unnecessarily messy.

I'm gonna cool it. Usually not a problem in the Other Games threads, but no reason to start anything.
cubs fans are always really pissy when things don't go exactly their way.

it's been wait till next year for over 100 years......do you blame them?

I don't really get the constant monitoring of Cubs fans. Who gives a [expletive] what they think?

I'm just saying, when you've been watching Boggs and Welly take the mound every 5th day, it's pretty easy to see why Cardinal fans are psyched when Smoltz does what he's doing. We're all aware that this isn't about Red Sox fans.......... it's just playful commentary on a message board, nothing more.

Heck, we've got an entire thread dedicated to ex-Cardinals. I think it's safe to assume that Red Sox fans would be interested in what Smoltz is doing today.
