It's just amazing to me that seemingly intelligent people are looking at projections which paint this as a market-value deal if you assume that Holliday will decline by more than a win next season and then steadily decline thereafter and finding fault with the contract. Given the leg-kick issue and the switch back to the NL full-time, it seems pretty clear to me that we should be projecting him to decline by less than the standard half-win, not a lot more.

Agreed. Part of why I've been high on Holliday ever since the Ludwick rumors is just that. He's in his prime and profiles as someone who will age slowly. He'll still be an impact player five years from now.
