It’s hard to imagine this is nothing. As noted above, swing rates stabilize almost immediately. Pujols’ swing rates have never shown much variance in his career. He has never topped 45 percent of pitches swung at. But going back to the All-Star break we have nearly two-thirds of a season’s worth of plate appearances, and he is swinging at nearly 20 percent more pitches than he had been. He is just a different hitter. Over the past three seasons, Todd Helton has swung at 41 percent of pitches, and Vernon Wells has swung at 49 percent of pitches. Albert Pujols has gone from Todd Helton’s approach to Vernon Wells’ approach.

The no-walks thing shouldn't be a surprise. For all the world it looked as if Pujols decided in June or early July that the best way to get to .300 with 100 RBIs was to swing at everything.

He hasn't been the game's best hitter for a few years now.

Albert has a 25% LD% and a .267 BABIP, despite no hits leaving the ballpark and posting a career low GB rate. Well that just makes all sorts of sense.

Way to earn your money Poo holes
How did the best eye in baseball diminish so drastically....This is Unbelievable!
Never thought i would say this in April but i hate Pujols right now
No more excuses for Pujols. He is a HUGE reason this team is 6-11 right now. I seriously would rather have Wells at the plate and that is absolutely sad.
I don't even care anymore. He'll hit his homer sometime in mid-May long after any of us stop paying attention.
guys, I'm new to baseball so forgive the noob question, but this Pujols guy - he stinks, yeah? seems sort of strange that the Angels gave him all that money.
Albert can't be this terrible all season, but I'm almost feeling bad for him.260 million dollars just doesnt buy what it used to

Guy was offered $220 mil to play for a World Championship baseball team, and become an icon. He declined. It's hard for me to feel bad for him.
