[SHOW]
I love that we're probably not going to hear the story of that guy in the bedroom.
[SHOW]
They've gave hints about it last night.
I know. I'm not complaining. There's just enough shown to get the point about Quarles across.

They're throwing stuff away this season that other shows would dwell on and muddle up. Icepick guy is another example.

The one best skit from each episode is generally good. The rest is...not.

I think they've had some really good sketches on there. The one where the couple goes to the organic farm, and Jason Sudeikis seduces them is great. One of those sketches where I totally get it, but I'm not sure why I get it. I liked the one where they go to the marketing agency and get lost trying to go to a meeting, and it ends up in that bird's nest thing. My wife briefly worked at an agency that had a meeting "cloud" which was basically a white inflatable room, so it resonated a bit. The women's bookstore skit is pretty one-note and maybe a cheap shot, but I still like it.

Oh, and I thought the one with Aimee Mann being a housekeeper was pretty clever, if not laugh out loud funny.

Yeah, it's extremely hit or miss.

Agree on all counts. I love "The Dream of the 90s" songs (both the 1990s and 1890s version). I love the "put a bird on it" sketch. The organic firm/what was my chicken's name sketches were fantastic. Loved the adult hide and seek league.

But it seems like much of each episode is consumed by filler. Are we supposed to laugh just because Armisen is in drag playing a meek woman while Brownstein is in drag playing a redneck dude who [expletive] her a lot? Because that recurring theme is stupid and unfunny.

I think we can all agree that LaMarcus Aldridge as Penny Marshall's lover is excellent.

Portlandia is the last sketch of SNL, where they put all the weird [expletive]. Kooky. Sometimes great.
