Isn't anyone else concerned about his lack of experience? He was only a senator for 3 months before he started running for President. This whole show of going to Europe to prove he can get along with their leaders seems silly. Of course he can get along with them for an afternoon--but it's not about getting along with them. Its about protecting American interests and cooperating with them IF it helps us.

And why write a policy speech on his plan for managing Iraq BEFORE he went there and looked at the situation?

I am not saying I don't like him--I just have questions.

Actually, he spoke between two bands at a huge free Rock concert...so people just stayed for the music and put up with the political crap...
Who were the bands? Isn't 200k an awfully large crowd to show up for a free rock concert, unless it was like U2 or something?

OK, I did a bit of research. The two bands were Reamonn and Patrice. Fairly popular bands in Europe, but to bring in 200k fans? I don't think that was the reason.

I'm not even going to bring up W's complete and utter lack of real political and business experience.

I guess I'm not that impressed by delivery.

Here's the "Yes We Can" speech. Can someone explain what's so great about it? Coming together, change, vague goals, blah blah. I've heard it all before.

If a candidate for the German chancellorship came to speak in St. Louis, would you go?

No, but I'm not going to the free Black Crowes concert in StL tonight either, nor would I go if Obama were giving a speech.

Also, comparing Germans' interest in American politics vs. our interest in Germany's isn't remotely the same.

Well, why aren't you going to the Black Crowes?

Late afternoon and early evening golfing, yes. I'll still be playing after the concert starts.

Plus I wouldn't be going anyway. One I'm not a big concert person, and two I'm not a big fan of the Black Crowes.
