We're currently able to see our dr who is out of our network because we a in a rural area. The clinic she's at will no longer accept insurance that is out of their network. I don't know that there is anything in Obama care that stipulates that but they told us that changes under the affordable care act are what prompted the change. It's very possible that companies are making changes because the ACA gives them an easy out even if the aren't directly stipulated in it, but its hard to say they aren't related.

Diddy, you might be able to submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance company even if your doctor says they don't accept it -- at least that's the way it works with my health insurance. You have to pay cash up front, and since the doctor is not in network, there is a larger deductible/coinsurance, but you can still make a claim that will pay if expenses are high enough. Something to check into, at least.

Ill check into it because we really like and trust our current dr with the kids. We can call her at any time if we have questions or concerns. Even without the major pain in the butt it'd be with another dr were very happy with her.

Missouri (and those other states) voters obviously have no morals, and are perfectly happy to let people die. These same people label themselves "right to lifers" when it fits their psychopathic agenda.

Move or die......... those will be the options for the people in those states at some point. The Republican leaders thank you for your vote.

The only thing I can come up with is spite. When people in these states realize their legislators refused hundreds of millions of free money that would have made life better for thousands of working people for no better reason than spite, I hope there is hell to pay.

I think it's generally spite for Obama. (the governor/state legislature has to agree to set up the state exchange)

The thing is, the expansion is really necessary for how the exchanges work, because it will cover the most needy/risky profile people, which then makes the other plans offered through the exchanges more affordable, since they don't have to worry about covering those people.

If your state has no medicaid expansion, then the plans offered through the exchange have to take into account that they need to cover these higher-risk people, so premiums go up.
