I do not like Obama. Vote for me ill give you $1000, vote for me ill give you 4 billion $, everytime that i listen to obama speak he says nothing but he says it well. Ive got a pres canidate telling me that if we just check our tire pressure that well solve our oil crisis, correct tire pressure makes a difference in MPG's but i dont need a politician telling me that. Then you see him giving a speech mentioning it and people going crazy.Socnorb11 wrote:Would you mind elaborating on this? Though, yes, she did present herself very well.
When i hear him speak i hear him say more about apeasing outher countries then whats best for our country. Ive spent alot of time the past few years living with foreighners many of whom "hate" america, funny thing is that if you ask them they would rather live here and are envious of the freedoms that we have. Weak $ is about the only down thing many of them will complain about.
I see his plan leding us towards a socialist society and thats something im very set against. So thats why i dont like obama.
Ive seen more lately out of the mccain ticket that i like, the comments about paris even though the hiltons are huge contributiors to him. I liked palin going after obama, the comments on his memors. I liked that they want to drill in alaska alot, even though its probalby going to take 5 years to see any of that oil. If its going to take that long to see results how long is it going to take to develop and implement technologys? This country isnt as bad off as many want to portray it. Were fortuante that were one of the few countries, along with maybe Russia, that could be truely self sufficent. We have the land to feed ourselves, the resources and the people/minds to do it. I want to see a president that emphisizes that instead of worried about how the rest of the world sees us.

So basically, it was the "Drill baby drill" chants that won you over?

The memory I'll take away from the RNC is of Rudy snickering at himself over how witty his snarky comments were.
And of how lucky we are that he, as the early front runner, flamed out early. I'm not nearly as concerned about a McCain administration as I would've been about a Guiliani one.

I agree..... that was by far the most juvenile display of politics that I've seen at any of the conventions.Radbird wrote:The memory I'll take away from the RNC is of Rudy snickering at himself over how witty his snarky comments were.

In hindsight, I think the Obama campaign came out of the RNC with lots of ammunition for the upcoming two months.

Ammunition against Guiliani? Against Romney? It will be hard for the DNC to turn around their statements and use them against McCain, who seperated himself from that talk in his speech. And if they do that, the Republicans can and will just as easily turn Biden's, Reid's, Hilary's, and other's words spoken over the past year against Obama.Socnorb11 wrote:I agree..... that was by far the most juvenile display of politics that I've seen at any of the conventions.Radbird wrote:The memory I'll take away from the RNC is of Rudy snickering at himself over how witty his snarky comments were.

It's not like the democrats have been sweet and cuddly with the republicans for the last 8 years. There's plenty of mud to sling on both sides of the aisle.
I'm also glad that Rudy flamed out early. He had a terrible strategy going in, and it backfired hard on him. I don't think he was ever really the front runner. Maybe in the media, but I think most republicans thought he would run, as they did with McCain, but were anxious to vote for anyone else who cut put up a good fight. Enter Romney and Huckabee, and Guiliani was toast.

no ive just liked alot of the talking points that ive heard over the past few days. They are more inline with my way of thinking. Ive liked mccain. I was a mike huckabee supporter and the last few days are the first time that ive wanted to vote for mccain instead of just voting for the lesser of two evils.Socnorb11 wrote: So basically, it was the "Drill baby drill" chants that won you over?

No, not against Guiliani. Against the McCain/Palin ticket. Specifically, I'm talking about the remarks concerning "community organizers", the mis-statements about Obama's stance on the issues, the half-truths about taxing, the hypocricy about being bipartisan, etc. Those are things that my untrained eye picked up. I would expect that Obama's folks are a little sharper than me.Fat Strat wrote:Ammunition against Guiliani? Against Romney?
