Figure that all of the SEC and Big XII teams in the BCS top 14 are eliminated, so no Mizzou, Carolina, or Oklahoma St.

That means it's either Clemson, Oregon, or Arizona St. And that's assuming Arizona St. stays in the top 14, which they probably won't (and they have 3 losses; Clemson has 2). Clemson is thousands of miles closer to the Orange Bowl; they have a positive history there with their fans; and Oregon fans likely see their season as a huge disappointment, and therefore aren't likely to travel as well. It's kind of a no-brainer.

I thought the ACC got the Orange bowl, either unofficially or officially, like the sugar and sec, fiesta and big 12, rose officially is big 10 and pac 12. I am apparently way off on what I think about bowls though.

That's correct, AW, but I don't think they HAVE to go that way. They get first crack at whatever team they want from those conferences.

That's just more proof that the BCS is dumb. Clemson has no reason to be in a big bowl. They've gotten beat pretty easily against the only two good teams they faced.

I question how "big" the Orange really is (seriously, go look at the teams that have played in that game). But again, if not them, then who?

It's no different than any other year when Kansas, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Rutgers, and others have made BCS bowls.

Hell if I know. It just seems wrong for almost all the big conferences to get 2 teams in there no matter how [expletive] they are.

National Championship: Floida St. vs. Auburn

— Alabama will play Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

— Clemson will play Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

— Michigan State will play Stanford in the Rose Bowl.

— Baylor will play UCF in the Fiesta Bowl.

Wouldn't Alabama-Ohio State and Clemson-Oklahoma make so much more sense from a fan perspective?

I guess it depends on who you hate more and want to see beaten down by Alabama.
