Exactley. Honetly at .08 you may hardly even feel buzzed...that's why the cops run the ads saying "buzzed driving is drunk driving under the law". At his low BAC limit I'm sure he felt OK to drive. He used some poor judgment like we all do sometimes.

Does anyone else think that when they look at the coaching staff, the deacon would be the one to get pinched?

My first boss on Capitol Hill gave me what I believe is the best advice you can follow for anyone in (or potentially near) the public eye:

"ya gotta be DISCREET about your indiscretions!"

TLR screwed up (as we all do from time to time); now he must pay the price--end of story.

Anyone who tries to make anything more or less out of this than what it is -- is a dope, IMO

Because LaRussa fell asleep at the wheel does not mean he was raging drunk. His measured BAC certainly does not indicate that level of intoxication.

I don't care if he's a raging drunk or not. He could have killed someone, even if you say it's not so.

When you're tired (and apparently up so late) and drinking, it doesn't mix well, even if you don't pop that high.

I believe studies have shown driving while sleep deprived is as if not more dangerous than drunk driving. He could have killed someone stone sober at noon on a full nights sleep. I agree it was stupid, but again fail to see the need for an outrage.

This is not dealing with LaRussa, but I've seen some very different views on what it would take to get to a certain level. It's my understanding, that for a guy my size (6-1/210), it would take 3-4 drinks in an hour and about 1 per hour after that. So 4 in an hour would put me over the limit, 3 probably wouldn't. Obviously there are variables in that - how much food you have eaten etc...

Alcohol is a part of my daily diet. I just had a nice glass of Merlot with dinner, and have one Leffe beer in the fridge for later. While it's not often I drink more than 2-3 in a night, the fact that I drink some alcohol almost every day of my life would leave me to believe I have some tolerance.

If I had 3 in an hour I would feel it. 4 and I'd be downright buzzed. So saying at .08 you wouldn't feel it, I'm not so sure I agree with that. I'm pretty certain at .08 I would call that mildly buzzed.

All the ESPN anchors are supporting LaRussa. He's going to have to get used to some boos this season at opposing parks.
