Re: First world problems

Last weekend I saved up my appetite, because we have a tradition of going to a certain restaurant once a year. My mouth waters just thinking about their steak. We tried calling ahead of time because they are slow, but they cook over coal so we understand. No answer. I knew something was wrong. When we pulled up there was a sign on the door 'Closed for Vacation'. The whole place was on vacation. I was irritated, but my wife was kind of happy because there is another nice place in which she likes something called cajun chicken linguini. So I ordered a steak and it was ok, but they were out of baked potatoes. Seriously, how do you run out of baked potatoes when there is a grocery store just down the street?

Was this place called Red Lobster? Their Cajun Chicken Linguini is one of the better chain dishes out there.

No, it is called Minerva's. I think they are only in SD, at least as far as I know. But they are very good at pretty much everything. High priced, but if you only go there so often, not so bad.

My cleaning lady came today and did a great job as always, but she forgot to make my bed.

Ho boy! Denver is getting a Steak 'n Shake!

Construction progressing on Colorado Steak 'n Shake

Steak 'n Shake expects to open in November

Whoop-di-do, right? But it's clear on the south side of town, 40 miles away. What a terrible inconvenience. And 4 more planned but all on that side of town. And another one even further away in Colorado Springs. C'mon people, we northsiders need our chili and orange freezes too.

Someday In-N-Out will come here from California. Hopefully, those folks will realize people also live north of downtown Denver...
