Sea Quench is definitely available in our market. I passed over it for the blood orange IPA but I'll give it a shot soon. I do love having 2-3 90 min IPAs after dinner.

That looks great. For jl's birthday I thought I was going to get a Perennial Société du Chêne membership. Instead I got nothing.

We're heading up to the Adirondacks this weekend for a wedding (wife's cousin is getting married in the Thousand Islands). After the wedding we're heading down to her dad's cabin in the heart of the Adirondacks (an hour-ish of Old Forge) for a few days. I'm gonna try and swing a trip to Cooperstown/Ommegang while we are there.

And then next weekend we are doing Rails & Ales here in the Twin Cities. All day pass on the light rail (the main station is only a 2 block walk from our apartment) and sixteen breweries within a few blocks of the various stops between downtown St Paul and Target Field in downtown Minneapolis.

IPAs,
New Belgium voodoo ranger imperial ipa is a good beer value. Smooth and tasty at 9% abv.

Bell's two hearted ale is good too. I am doing more canned beer (cooler beer) in the summer and it comes in can. Two hearted is strange in how sometimes its tastes better than others. Might be my imagination. Had it on tap and wasnt that great. Citrusy IPAs though don't always go great with food.

Octoberfests are back, and I'm happy. UCBC' s Ochasajfhrjashloake is good again. And they shortened name to O-katz

I haven't been able to get into sours and Goses - but one that didn't annoy me too much was Sierra Nevada Otra Vez

In that case, Off Color's Troublesome is great. So is Lepziger Gose. And Anderson Valley's "The Kimmie, The Yink and the Holy Gose".

When I studied for the Cicerone exam like 5 years ago you didn't have to know a gose, wasn't even on the study guide. Now they--and grisettes and other formerly lost sour styles--are everywhere.

Apparently a microbrewery of some sort is coming to my hometown of Webster Groves in the spot Auto Beauty Specialists was kicked out of. Popeye will know the spot. He used to scooter his way to work across the street if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway I sure hope it's a good one. There are too many microbrewery themed spots as well as just plain not good small brewers opening these days.
