I just saw a youtube of the injury. Absolutely horrible - worst thing I've ever seen - and it wasn't even a clear picture. His shin snapped in two. It happened right in front of the Louisville bench and the reaction of those guys was unbelievable.

I can't post it here - you can find it on your own if care to. But I wish that I hadn't looked for it. 10x worse than Theismann.

That's the reaction of the Louisville bench. That's all you need to see.

It was gross, sure, but medically it was not that bad, which is I guess more of the way I think at this point. People break bones all the time.

Honestly, at this point I feel like you are bizarrely trolling. Everyone in the world has pretty much said "This is the grossest injury ever" and you're saying it's not that bad. I'm not even sure how to respond.

Regarding the rest of the game: Holy crap, was that crowd in favor of L'ville or what. I loved that at my bar, it was hard to hear the commentators often, simply because the crowd (at the arena) was so loud for them. I am biased in that I unnaturally hate Duke, but that injury and the team's emotional reaction turned the entire audience in their favor. I don't know if it will carry over to the last two games, but I would have bet a hundred bucks to win five that they'd win that game.

I guess you never know how you will react until you see something like that, but am I the only one that thinks the Louisville players are a bunch of little girls? Luke Hancock (#11) is the only one who handled it. He was comforting Ware while they waited for the EMTs.

No - you never know. And I would think hearing AND seeing it as it happens without expecting it right in front of you is different than hitting up a video knowing what's coming. I would hope I'd be the one helping him out but I have no idea. Hell, yesterday the neighbor's little, mean, yappy dog got out of their backyard and I came upon it walking out of my backyard and nearly jumped out of my skin. Good thing it didn't come after me or I would have knocked it silly with a piece of wood I was carrying.

I dunno, it's pretty funky seeing that sort of thing up close. I've seen a lady with brittle bone .... ah, there it is http://gatewayredbirds.com/forum/viewto ... e#p1281053

anyway, I can't say I blame them. Also, men acting like girls under those sort of circumstances keeps my value up.

I have no interest in watching it. It's obviously awful.

But I do think they're a bit over the top with the notion that Louisville was inspired by the injury, or winning as a tribute to Ware, etc. I mean, he didn't just receive a cancer diagnosis. He broke a leg. A gruesome injury, no doubt, but thousands of people break legs every day.

I was watching it when it happened. I had to look away. It almost made me puke.
