If Mauk hadn't whiffed on that deep ball I would feel pretty good.

Yeah, I really wish they would've run more up the gut and taken more deep shots when the game was closer. Now, we're going to see the Maty Mauk YOLO Offense, which is terrifying and capable of turning this into a really much uglier blowout.cardsfansince82 wrote:Trying to run east-west against Bama is an exercise in futility.
Honestly, I never even thought it was a fumble because they whistled it dead so early. DingleGary and Uncle Verne really made it seem more controversial than it should have been.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Ha. GOod thing there's instant replay to get the calls right. [expletive] stupid. God I [expletive] hate replay.

Well, he definitely blew him up, that's for sure. I don't know whether it should've been a penalty or not, but it definitely wasn't the one they called, and shouldn't've led to ejection.JL21 wrote:I don't know. Frankly, I find the whole damn rule confusing and rarely consistently enforced. But this... looks bad to me.
well, a penalty is a no-doubter. just looking at that, I was wondering ejection.redbirdjazzz wrote:Well, he definitely blew him up, that's for sure. It looks way worse because of Sims holding on to that one legged follow through. He was so off balance anything was going to look bad. They used to say you get two steps after release to hit the QB and Ray only takes one. I'm ok with that being judged late, but I don't think it was excessively dirty and no way should it be an ejection. I don't think that's in the spirit of what the targeting penalty is supposed to address.JL21 wrote:I don't know. Frankly, I find the whole damn rule confusing and rarely consistently enforced. I don't think they whistled it dead, at least that was what I took away watching it. The thing about replay is they consistenly look at...well, every god damn play. Why not that one? I can think of 20 plays off the top of my head less questionable.JL21 wrote:
