Oh [expletive], I'm guilty too. As a salesperson, it would probably benefit me to take all of these commonly used douchebag phrases out of my vocabulary, no?

That's a bad list. Seems like almost all of those originated outside of the corporate sphere. Drill down, take this offline, Ping me, I don't have the bandwidth - those are pretty bad because there are simple phrases that mean the same things and work better. The rest I've heard all over the place. I've never liked "touch base", but that's because it doesn't make sense for what it means. I remember my Mom saying it when I was a kid. A couple others annoy me, but I don't know if they're corporate speak.

The rest of them seem like he's saying "let's never ever speak in metaphor." Low hanging fruit? Elephant in the room? Those are common phrases. "Get my managers blessing" - that's a simple phrase that means what it says.

Ping me? Ping me is bad? No way. Short, concise, to the point. Of course I'm a software engineer so everybody around me gets it and uses it.

The latest buzzword here is "corporate athlete".

I think I'm on the corporate DL.

My former manager actually sent me an e-mail that said the following:
This is on so and so's radar, so lets take this off line, I need you to drill down and we will touch base later, so we can get so and so's blessing.

I guess I've been corporatized, that makes sense to me and isn't super egregious. It has about two too many empty phrases, but it's harmless.

So and So is now paying attention to this, so you and I should spend some extra time focusing on it to get it ready for So and So to approve?

Then say that. You sound like a idiot trying to sound smart. Just say - Bob is interested in this, please research it and we can discuss later.
