I don't think they whistled it dead, at least that was what I took away watching it. The thing about replay is they consistenly look at...well, every god damn play. Why not that one? I can think of 20 plays off the top of my head less questionable.

For what it's worth, Mike Pereira said the official ruling takes precedence over the whistle.
