i guess it is the context...are you seriously saying that it wasn't intended to incite?
barack shouldn't have to hide that his middle name is hussein, but the fact is that name "scares" people in this country..."is he like us or is he one of them?"..."them" being terrorists that bush devoted his terms to...and the republicans for awhile were unabashed to use it, now, people who are in the political spotlight wont say it, but those who are not (i.e. you) have no problem saying it in an inciteful way...which is why i think you said it
Your goal is to help him?
Because if that's not your goal, then you're simply using it in an imflammatory way.

its one thread...and a thread like this would be more like in that current events forum...obucard wrote:This thread is certainly bringing back memories. It's been his name since Page 1 of this thread, but you just seem to be using it NOW to incite. Nobody here believes you're not trying to stir up trouble with it.
i agree this thread has brought up a lot of emotions, but i dont see it as some turning point in GRB's history to a CT like way

You and others have gone out of your way to distort the truth or incite or stir up trouble in regards to the right. All I'm doing is what Barry wants. No distortion at all.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: The Thread
My posts are referencing things others bring up here. I hate crap from either side, too. You don't see me rushing here to bring up lies about Obama or Biden or Dems. Almost all of mine are in defense. Am I one-sided? Sure. But I'm simply referring to other posts here, not starting new conversations.pop_haines wrote:BS. Grow up?
I asked a question. You continue to throw out statements about how disgusting McCain and his camp apparently are and dragging Palin through the mud for what she's supposedly done. I'm just asking if it's fine for the other side to do the things you claim the right is doing?
I don't like it from either side. I'm just seeing what you think. But I guess I know your answer.
from you at all.
Call your side on it.
Take your time.
If you can do it between now and November 4th,
I'll be impressed.
I just respond to what I think is ridiculous and unnecessary.
If you just want this to be a liberal propaganda BS thread, then I'll bow out gracefully. Because that's where all of the resistance is....when I call someone's BS out.
I've said that I don't like it from either side. I doubt many share my view, at least according to the posts in this thread.
always in defense of the GOP. And, when you are right,
I will agree. I hate crap from either side.
But show me a post where you call out your own.
Liberal propaganda thread: lol. More BS.
Look, I don't like it from the dem side and I WILL call
them on it. A friend of mine sent me the library ban
list and I told him it was pure crap. Another friend
sent me the Palin-Stars/Stripes-bikini pic and I told
him emphatically that was a photoshop.
So what have you done?
A couple of friends and I tonight talked about our dislike for the new McCain ad on Barry's education history. That's one example that has happened in the last hour. But we're smart enough not to swallow everything hook, line and sinker. I can't say that for everyone here.
And yeah...I do think this is mostly a liberal propaganda thread. There's so much stuff that's almost made up from certain posters, and nobody says a word. If I do, then I'm called out. It's not allowable for things to be even on this thread, but I understand that.

No need to apologize. But see what I mean? How many people took what I asked and turned it around on me? It's not a two-way street around here.pop_haines wrote:My goodness, this thread is fast as lightning.BW23 wrote:
Very not up on the news. I don't have a problem with him taking a vacation, but I thought it wasn't the wisest of things to do now. I actually despise so much about politics. I looked at him going soon as a good thing. Less political news. But in no way did I ask because I didn't think he should take one. He deserves one more than most of us.
The rest of your post I don't necessarily agree with, but we both know that.
And thanks for actually responding to what I've been wondering.
Ok, sorry for jumping you.
And we can agree to disagree. No problem there.

It's a difficult cross to bear. At least you can take solace in the fact that most of them won't even bother to vote.BW23 wrote: And yeah...I do think this is mostly a liberal propaganda thread. Are you freakin' kidding me?
That is a slap in the face to every family who has a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Nobody knows what war is like, other than her family?John McCain's daughter Meghan said Tuesday that her family has a special understanding of the military, claiming that "no one knows what war is like other than my family."
McCain, appearing on NBC's "Today Show" to promote her recently released children's book on her father, said the experience of having the country at war is "just different when you have someone in the military," adding that "obviously, I think my father gets it more than anyone."
"I mean, my family — I have two brothers serving in the military. One is about to redeploy to Iraq," McCain said. "My father is obviously a famous war hero. No one knows what war is like other than my family, period."
McCain added that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has a similar understanding because her son Track is slated to deploy to Iraq on September 11.
