OMG Dexter
[SHOW]
It was fairly predictable, but I'm gonna miss Rita's fine ass.

I've been watching The Larry Sanders show on Hulu. Funny stuff.

Californication finale was pretty solid.

both californication and dexter were huge downers.
[SHOW]
as much of a trainwreck as hank is at this point, the final scene seemed pretty out of character. Hitting a cop sober?

dexter was a better cliffhanger. I wonder, if like in the books (double-spoilered) debra will find out about him and keep his secret. seems almost inevitable now. Just please no supernatural [expletive].

On Dexter...
[SHOW]
It might have been a little predictable once he got home, and they did foreshadow it with overdoing putting her in a cab, but that really took me back when they actually did it. Where do they go from here? There are three kids that are going to need to be looked after, and he needs to find time to kill people. I imagine they go with their goofy grandparents, but it will be weird without her on there. She was the "female" Dexter, broken and tortured in a different way. That season of Dexter was fan-freaking-tastic, but this next season needs to be the last.

I should probably know this, but are you saying Dexter was originally a book?

I'm an idiot. I didn't see it coming in the least. I knew something more was going to happen after he was done with Trinity but that's the last thing I expected. My jaw [expletive] hit the floor. And the full-circle thing with the baby was incredible. That's one of the reasons I don't think he'll give the kids up to the grandparents. Now that his own kid is in the same situation he was at a young age, he's going to feel even more responsible- at least in the case of the baby.

There's a ton of directions it could go from here. You've got Quinn who's onto him. You've got his involvement with Trinity's family, which- if Miami Metro on that show was worth two poops- would come back to bite Dexter in the ass. Him handling the kids, if he keeps them. Deb potentially finding out who he really is. Lots and lots of stuff that could happen.

Anyway, that was the best season finale I can remember an HBOwtime show having. Tiger Woods agrees.

yes, a recent and ongoing series of books. He's pumping them out now that he can capitalize on the show.

The first one is called Darkly Dreaming Dexter - lots of alliteration in the books. The new one is going to be called Dexter is Delicious
[SHOW]
and deals with cannibalism, while the third one dealt with the supernatural. I could do without all of that in the show.
