just as Tony Dungy doesn't consider someone's faith/beliefs when drafting someone.
He considers someone's sexual orientation, which is discrimination and worthy of public outcry. Don't defend a guy who isn't even defending himself.
I disagree. I don't think he considers someone's sexual orientation when drafting them.
If Sam was straight he wouldn't have a problem drafting him. That's discrimination.
This. No gay -> no distraction - > draft him. Gay -> distraction -> don't draft him.

"Distraction" is such a vague, pathetic cop out anyway. Say what you mean. Don't leave so much room for interpretation when discussing important, sensitive subjects.

Again, that's not what he said.

of course he said he loves michael sam. all christians "love" their fellow man. we hear them say that all the time. many of them also believe and say, that if you do not accept jesus christ or repent or don't do whatever they dont like, that God will punish them. again, i refer back to my religion excuses frustrations. also, christians say "well, its not ME, its the bible, its up to God" which then clears you of any homophobia except you choose to follow the God that is homophobic.

Others said they wouldn't draft him, also. I have to assume that those guys would prefer to put a good football team on the field, also.

Dungy has had people of all background on his teams. I'm not aware of any of them feeling discriminated against.

Oddly enough, "distraction" came up really really early in this thread (pre-Dungy).......... and you had no problem with it at all. Or at least you didn't seem to protest like you are now. Of course, there's no evidence that anyone else who has mentioned it was Christian.

Maybe you're the one that's discriminating here.

If I were a coach, and I genuinely believed that a particular player would be a big enough distraction to offset his contribution to the team, then I wouldn't want him on my team.

Is that because you're against gay marriage?
