I don't care what Meghan McCain says. I don't care about the pig reference.

Except to the extent that these are two examples of the multitude of crap that gets in the way of discussing real issues that I do care about.

Well, until someone smarter than him told him it wasn't a good idea. It wasn't Republican bloggers or talk show hosts that started using it. It was him. And that cracks me up.

We're not offended by "it". We're offended by you using it as a means of mockery.

Who told him it wasn't a good idea?
Ask him. You don't see him using it, do you?

And if you're going to mock a candidate's daughter, then I'll mock a candidate.
I'm not mocking a candidate's daughter. I'm taking offense to what she said. Obama didn't say a word about Palin. You're reading THAT into his remarks, because you want to. What Meghan said is crystal clear. She didn't stutter, and she said "period" at the end of her statement, just to make sure we were all clear that she meant it as a specific point.

I never heard Obama say anything about his middle name to begin with, so no, I haven't noticed any difference in the way he addresses himself. And no, I don't know who told him to say it to begin with, or who told him to stop saying it. Apparently you have all of this information, though?

One thing was said, the other wasn't.
Do you really think Meghan McCain thinks her family is the only one to know the pain of war? If so this is a stupid conversation becasue you can't reason.

Do you also think Miss South Carolina thinks a fifth of Americans can't locate the US on a map because they need to help the Iraq and the Asian countries?

Edit: Like you said, and what started this entire discussion, sometimes you have to use logic to understand a situation. Something you are unwilling to do in this case apparently.

BTW, that's it, this is a dumb conversation so I'm done with it. I wish you and your family the best of luck during these times. I have friends and family over there right now and will add you and yours to my thoughts and prayers.

I showed the quote from the transcript where he talked about his middle name. It was very clear what he was talking about. I don't claim to know who told him what. I just claim to know what he said and that he obviously doesn't say it now.

And I'm sure you didn't watch any of the interview with Meghan before quoting some left-wing blog. Am I reading into her meaning? Sure. Because I watched it. Just like I watched Obama's comment about Palin. Am I reading into that, too? Yep. It was a very scripted moment that he almost screwed up...something he's good at these days.

Again, I'm taking umbrage with a guy that thinks his middle name will help the world's view of the U.S.

Your taking umbrage with a kid. Good luck with that.

I don't think Miss South Carolina has a clue what the question meant.

I think Meghan pretty clearly has an elitist mindset, and there's no filter between her brain and her mouth. It's pretty obvious from her statements that she thinks her family is more aware than anybody else.

How can you be so sure that his middle name won't change the world's view of us?

And yeah, you did claim to know who told him to stop saying it.

And it's pretty sad that a guy who "screws up" so regularly has come out of nowhere to put himself into a position of "probably" being the next president. Yeah, I'd definitely say he's dropped the ball.
