Not really a quote, but the 3hr rain delay that included an inebriated Jack Buck, Mike Shannon, and Bob Uecker was hilarious.

I get XM and listening to Bob Uecker is awesome. I could imagine that would be great. Wouldnt you have loved to buy those guys a few beers and listen to them talk all night?TimeForGuinness wrote:Not really a quote, but the 3hr rain delay that included an inebriated Jack Buck, Mike Shannon, and Bob Uecker was hilarious.
I'd have to check somewhere and see if it was really LaSorda who said that - it's been attributed, like so many baseball quotes, to a bunch of different people - but the line is: "Throw strikes. Babe Ruth's dead.""Why you don't pitch strike? You know, Babe Ruth was dead years ago!" ~ Tommy Lasorda
Thankks, my dear friend! -- I read it on a Chinese book, it is the first and most interesting book which leads me to MLB.Jmodene wrote:I'd have to check somewhere and see if it was really LaSorda who said that - it's been attributed, like so many baseball quotes, to a bunch of different people - but the line is: "Throw strikes. i coached in my daughter in softball when she was 14. in one game she couldn't throw a strike and the other pitchers weren't there that day. When i went to the mound to talk to her she was crying, i used the "no crying in baseball" quote but with no animation and she just looked at me weird.
