And someone remind me - what was Teddy Ballgames ERA again? And how many WS games did he win?

Teddy was the greatest hitter of them all, but the Babe is the greatest player ever hands down.
Ugh, how I hate this argument.

I voted for Ted Williams because I have multiple books about him, and my grandfather got his autograph in a restaurant back when I was a baby and gave it to me as a present. Babe Ruth is the best player of all-time, but if y'all can vote for Bob Gibson over Roger Clemens, then I can vote for Teddy Ballgame. :D

Are you saying the Babe didn't? He was known to sleep with every woman in a brothel in one night, then wake up and eat an 18 egg omelet!

Good point about the Yankee thing, though.

Thing is, I may despise the Red Sox MORE than the Yankess at this point.

I know it's wrong.

I don't really believe that he was the better player.

But I'm doing it on general principle alone.
And how is this different than voting for Gibson over Clemens

And there's absolutely no way that should happen.

This is a no-brainer.

Clemens has SEVEN Cy Youngs AND an MVP. Gibson has 2 and 0.

Clemens has almost 100 more wins. His winning % is .070 better than Gibson's.

Clemens has 1500 more K's and a better K/9 (i.e. it's not all about his having more IP than Gibson).

Clemens' BB/9 is better.

Clemens' WARP1, WARP2, and WARP3 advantages are very sizable (ranging from 60 to 80).

It's absolutely ridiculous that it's 10-9 as of this post.

You'll note later that I say:
AND if everyone can vote for Bob Freakin' Gibson over Roger Clemens, then I can vote for the Splinter over the Babe.

The Babe did something Ted Williams could not do. Win a World Series as a member of the Red Sox
