Excellent play..terrible strategy..

You never squeeze with mutilple runners on and nobody out..never..especially down two runs late in the game with the opponent's starting pitcher tiring and apparently on the ropes..

i thought it was a good move by Garner--Ausmus can handle the bat but cant hit --slow double play candidate--late innings down by two

Garner was going to pull the pitcher for a PH anyway--would have a run in one out and a man in scoring position.

I have never seen a sucide squeeze fail if the batter got the ball out so far as the catcher couldn't field it --Great play by AW especially

I've seen that play blow up into a DP with nobody out more then I've seen it help the offense..

I thought Wainwright was tiring and the Astros did us a favor giving us an out..

Of course I agree Wainwright's ability to get off the mound and make the play certainly helps my point...

The thing is even if the squeeze is successful at some point in the inning you're going to need a hit to score that tying run..so why not try a srtaight Sac with Ausmus or at least a safety squeeze with Ausmus and if worse comes to worse you've got men at second and third and probably Palmeiro at the plate with one out..That seems less risky to me..and could very well get Wainwright out of the game..

That was the first 1-2-3 double play I have ever seen that didn't include a force out at home.

Anyone recall ever seeing a 1-2-3 without a force, until this one??? AMAZING PLAY!
