Agree 100%! Reading a whole paragraph on those stats just seem like to much.stretch wrote:Stats are fine to a point, but I don't really care to read a five paragraph post on them. That is just me. I know others would like nothing more than to read paragraph after paragraph of analysis.
Not knowing what they mean or how they are arrived at doesn't hinder my enjoyment of the game. I don't mind remaining ignorant of some things.
What counts as a stat thread? Baseball is full of stats, so at what point does a thread cross the "stat thread" threshold?Elphie15 wrote:I don't think that the stat threads should be eliminated, by any means. I just feel like that that's all that's allowed in Baseball Talk anymore.
Other than that, I think the forum is fine. I love it.
Do you mean like some kind of glossary? I think it's a good idea.JohnnyJay wrote:I offered a suggestion. Hopefully it's considered. I joined here for the sole purpose to discuss Cardinal baseball. The other forums on this board I frequent, is quite frankly due to the fact that this is the only message board I post. Does anyone agree with me? Would anyone like to see a thread dedicated to learning about advanced stats?
Exactly. Something for "beginners" to reference. I think it would expand discussions even further.G. Keenan wrote:Do you mean like some kind of glossary?
