To answer the question, back in college I actually was in the next room passing out whilst some orgy apparently went on in a bedroom. 3 guys(one of whom was gay) and 2 girls, though, so I stayed out of it.

Pretty much. Later hearing about the sorts of things that did happen that night made the whole thing, in retrospect, even creepier.
The funny thing was, I threw that party together. I felt like Edward Norton in "Fight Club".

I've messed around with two women at the same time, but only went "all the way" with one of them, so I consider that a whiff (in all senses of the term )
Unfortunately, my ability to enter into group sex due to interest from other parties has increased with age*. Or at least my ability to gauge that interest anyway. However, at my age, 41, and parental and significant-other status it would be kinda creepy and a bad idea. Yet the idea of slipping around in a hot tub full of oily hotties does appeal to me.
Actually, now that I think about it. I have had a few offers by guys to have sex with their girlfriends and them. I guess I was too shy for that- and not so sure that the guy didn't want to have sex with me so I passed.
*not completely true. gay men have always hit on me and I'm guessing group sex would have been an option.
