The Official GRB Chess Thread

My niece started playing chess about a year ago (around age 9) and was almost immediately better than me and my brother. I go over to their house most Sundays and we play a game or two before she goes up to bed. She's now in a chess club and has done a couple of tournaments. She destroys me about 80% of the time.

Last night, she got me with fvcking Scholar's Mate. This was not the first time. It has me fuming that I keep losing to variations of this attack.

Playing as black, what's your best defense against this? I feel like I should be better at recognizing it, but she's gotten to where she's hiding it with other decoy moves and stuff.

Proud of my niece, she's ruthless. But GOTDAMN I'm sick of getting whooped by Scholar's Mate. FVCK. LOL
