Phillips is hilarious. I don't that in a condescending way either; I find him really entertaining -- especially the "having dreams about me" bit.

I think it is funny how much he gets under the skin of some Cards fans. There are a handful of players who have that effect on me, but no Reds yet ...

I don't think he is suggesting we secretly love him, Bronc, I think he is playfully suggesting we're preoccupied with him because we're afraid of him and how good he is and how much then Reds are gonna clobber us.

Cronos, the psychology of pro athlete personalities is an interesting topic. Some do wander over into the axis II territory, but in general, as a group they test out with significantly more than average of the traits of industry leaders and are comparable to the most successful members of other fields. Pro athletes are generally confident, focused, independent, satisfied, empathic, and in control.

Would anyone like it if one of our players said this kind of stuff? Honestly?

It would probably get under my skin more if Phillips dominated us, but he never really seems to back up the talk. As of now, it's somewhere between amusing and annoying.
