I can attest to the masking drinks....this was close to 15 years ago but it worked then so I figure they can still get the job done. Would I be nervous as hell it wouldnt work though, absolutely.

Re: Drug Test
Smoke it if you want to but don't complain about the consequences of a drug test, responsible adults take responsibility for their actions.Jocephus wrote:is going 5 mph over responsible? i can play dat game too.wart57 wrote:Is doing something that is illegal being responsible?Jocephus wrote:dont do drug tests and let your employees be responsible free adults. if they are not doing their job correctly, properly, as the fine print indicates, then fire them.
i knew my comment would get a response and it was said sorta in jest...yes i realize the illegalities of some drugs...thats a whole other issue.
but you will never convince me as someone who smokes marijuana that i am not a responsible adult.
I prefer Mr. Mackey to Nancy Reagan...

P.S. my response is mostly in jest as well.

Re: Drug Test
This strikes me as a totally fallacious argument. By this logic, anyone who refused to give up their Facebook password during a job interview must also have a problem. You could use it it justify any employer invasion into the lives of their workers.cpebbles wrote:You know, if you know you are subject to drug tests which will jeopardize your employment and you continue to smoke pot, by definition you have a problem with the drug.
Anyway, I thought that employer drug testing was disappearing as it costs money and delivers no returns.

The very definition of substance dependence is the continued use when it interferes with aspects of your everyday life. Eg, when it puts your job at risk. The Facebook thing is not comparable, though I guess you could say that you have a Facebook dependence problem if you know your boss is monitoring it and you still persist in posting stuff that will cause him to fire you.Arthur Dent wrote:This strikes me as a totally fallacious argument. Re: Drug Test
The point is that you're taking it as axiomatic that refusing the boss's demands means you have a problem. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to refuse the boss even though he may have the power to punish you. For most jobs, mandatory drug testing is an unjustified violation of privacy and refusing to be cowed by it is not a sign of addiction.

Re: Drug Test
Addiction and dependence are separate things, and refusing to be "cowed" into giving up a recreational drug is definitely a sign that you are dependent on it.
I have an ideological problem with most drug testing, but I also have an ideological problem with casual drug use and a major practical problem with drug use when it's quite likely to be supporting cartels that are terrorizing and destabilizing an entire nation. I certainly hope that the marijuana users here at least have the decency to make sure their supply chain ends with a burnout somewhere with a handful of growing lamps.

Oh, definitely. That's when I'm buying my ganja, I always make sure to ask the guy "Hey, I just want to make sure, you aren't getting this from a terrorist are you?"

Seriously, estimates put something like 40% of the marijuana sold in this country coming from the Mexican cartels, for which it's still a major source of income. Anyone willing to risk supporting them with what's currently going on in Mexico is seriously not a good person.

You mean smoking marijuana is not a victimless crime?cpebbles wrote:Seriously, estimates put something like 40% of the marijuana sold in this country coming from the Mexican cartels, for which it's still a major source of income.
