cards2468 wrote:As much as you think we Americans love baseball, Latin America is just as passionate. Much of Asia is crazy about it too. It's one sport that countries like the Dominican Republic, Japan, Cuba or South Korea could actually stand a chance of winning a Gold Medal, but I guess because Britain, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Greece wouldn't have a shot, then nobody should be allowed to play it.
There's a lot of truth in this. If baseball were as popular in Europe as it is in Latin America or the Far East, it would still be in the Olympics. But Frenchmen and Germans don't play it so they cut it from the Olympics while goddamn trampoline has a lifetime pass.

In other, happier news, apparently we have our best shot at a medal in the marathon in a long time--if said marathoner isn't too much with the Jesus.

Who cares about baseball being snubbed.? The Olympics are generally for and about sports that don't get our attention the rest of the time anyway.

In an Olympic wrestling tournament, anyone who loses to the eventual finalists enters a consolation tournament, the finalists of which receive bronze medals. There is are four medals awarded with two bronze.

You'll be happy to know that Tron with swords is apparently an Olympic sport now. Seriously, have you seen the fencing? Whacky.
