God tonight sucked. I was taking up residence on the couch when my mother called because she tries her best to make me as miserable as possible. She just got done telling me that, the one friend I talked about in the first post basically just won the lottery. Not really, but that's the equivilant. He's lazy, he works 3 days a week and thinks he's over worked. Well he latched on to his brothers project recently and it just went big. Lazy ass worthless friend of mine just became an over night millionaire with 0 effort. I hate America.

So when I was explaining to my Mom that I didn't want to hear about it and whatever someone pulled in outside and the dog started parking. The dog who has basically waited by the door since we left for the hospital for Nic to come home. He was so excited he peed. So I say to my Mom I have to go Nic is hu......when I realized what I was saying.

It was the UPS man. God damn that hurts alot. and the poor dog he's just so moppy.

the guy who moved in next door about 6 months ago, 38 years old, always out in the yard landscaping and decorating, died Saturday a week ago of an MI completely out of the blue.
a co worker, a year younger than me, died in his sleep at the firehouse last week.

I also am just seeing this thread. I know I'm not a huge part of this board- and I hope I'm not hurting things by bringing it back up- but I just can't express enough sympathy for you and your loss and her family's loss.

I am speechless. I haven't been on much lately, just read through this thread. I am heart broken. If I ever met you in person, I would do two things. Give you a big hug and then buy you a beer.

My kid is now in 2nd grade, but his Kindergarten teacher died over the Christmas break.

She was 36 years old, married and had a 16 month old baby at home. I don't know cause of death, but the obituary says she had a "heart condition". Her husband found her at home.

There was another teacher in this area that had a very similar thing happen at a very similar age last year. In her case, they said the birth of her child aggravated her heart condition. And yes, I always think of Darryl Kile whenever you hear about someone in their 30s dying of a heart condition.

She was a great teacher and was still good friends with my son. In fact, she was the last person he saw at school before he left, because he had to be sure to say goodbye to her. My son knows about death because he still remembers and talks about when my grandma died. But this one is a lot closer to him. I don't think it's totally sunk into him yet. Or probably a ton of the other kids she taught/was teaching. Of course, the school is secondary to what her family must be going through. It just sucks all around.

Yesterday was the anniversary of my friend's passing. It's amazing how if you just sit down and think about it, the floodgates just open up. All the memories, all the fun, all the pain. All the phone calls, the funeral, the burial; and before that, the roadtrips, hunting, hog roasting, weekends at the lake. Just. Insane. I don't think people ever really get over a death. It just doesn't happen; they just learn to block it out and numb the pain.

I don't know. That's a view that doesn't accept death as a part of life.
