Eat rite or don't eat at all.
Should be Eat drunk or don't eat at all.
I could use a medium rare Tap Room burger with slaw on an English muffin tight now.

Probably legal stuff. I know Schlafly has done a bunch to sidestep legal issues. They make cider, therefore are classified a winery not a brewery, which is brilliant and helps them get past certain distribution laws that apply to breweries. There might be something in the MO state code that limits their special beers to being sold retail at the taproom only. My guess is when they opened the taproom they were one of the first if not the first in MO and there was some kind of restriction in which they could be a microbrewer who was selling retail on site provided they were under a certain # of barrels and selling a certain % of their beer on site.haltz wrote:I just asked about this, and it's right in the name. You see the same mass-produced bottled stuff at Bottleworks that you do at Schnuck's, because that's what they do there. So you've got the Tap Room where they have a bunch of limited release or exclusive stuff on tap, and the Bottleworks where they brew and bottle wide releases. I don't see why they couldn't bring some stuff over to BW, but there you go.lukethedrifter wrote:I don't know why I haven't yet but I'm going to ask the brewmaster what the deal is with the deal with the lousy selection at Bottleworks.

I went to the Tap Room for lunch the other day. That place is the happiest place on earth.

I don't know what the bartender's name is, or this guy that I struck up a conversation with, but the patron next to me asks about the Hop Trial Palisades that's on tap, which garners an explanation of "palisades are a new kind of hops etc as opposed to cascades..."JL21 wrote:I went to the Tap Room for lunch the other day. To which my new friend says, "so you're saying it's a product of agronomists and not brewers."
The bartender replies, "all raw materials are, my friend."

Went to Bottleworks for first time in long while. brunch is pretty good there. Looks like they spruced up their regular menu. The beer selections were good, brewing the Irish Stout.
Still, I think they should reconfigure that space-get rid of that wall separating the sterile Ms Sherry -sequel dining area- have a bigger central square bar in the middle of the whole deal and radiate from there.
Along this line, drank at the nearby two local craft beer bars-Global Brew and Side Project. Not sure why they have tables seats, but nobody waiting on them...global brew-they had a waitress but she acted pissed at life and didn't bother to come over to a group of ten thirsty gents. side Project -the setup isn't conducive to busy time - you get your beer over the top of the bros at the bar.

First time seeing this thread...I don't like the Tap Room at all and much prefer Bottleworks. I also hate the location of the Tap Room, though Southwest being shut down at McCausland has me thinking both their locations suck at the moment.

The spruced up menu is thanks to a long time friend of mine.Freed Roger wrote:Went to Bottleworks for first time in long while. brunch is pretty good there. Looks like they spruced up their regular menu. The beer selections were good, brewing the Irish Stout.
