Ah, yeah, that makes sense. It also kind of hints at some sort of gentlemen's agreement between Col and Landeskog.

I'm thinking so...or at least he wants to wait till the expansion draft is over to start negotiate/re-sign (as it's one less player they'd have to protect if he had signed beforehand)

Not sure why Unrestricted Free Agents are listed on the Available players list. Why would you draft an Unrestricted Free Agent since you would still have to sign him to play next season which you could still attempt to sign them, so not sure what you would gain from drafting them.
Seattle currently has an exclusive UFA signing window up until the draft. If they sign any UFAs right now it counts as their pick from that team, BUT they also can offer players an 8 year contract during this window like the original team has instead of only 7 years most teams can offer free agents. Not a massive benefit but a good sized one for players that are around 30 and looking to cash in one final big contract

Jaden Schwartz and Seattle talked contract during the expansion team's exclusive UFA/RFA interview period, but a source said no deal was reached.

That means Schwartz won't be Seattle's pick in the expansion draft. He is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 28 and it is believed that he will be testing to the open market.
so looks like it's down to Tarasenko or Dunn

if I'm SEA I take Dunn...but all the smoke seems to be towards Tarasenko, as they can keep him, or many teams have apparently already reached out to them regarding a trade if they select him.

I’m going 60% Dunn, 20% Tarasenko, 15% Mikkola, 5% wild card.

I can never figure out the Twitter code on this forum, but jr hearing rumors that it’s Dunn. Not yet confirmed. (But I’d have to think highly likely with this much smoke)

So this means the Blues will get more than just salary relief for Tarasenko, right?

If a deal can be found, yes.

I could see the blues not getting decent offers and basically telling tank, “make yourself tradeable”. If tank is sitting at the deadline with 15+ goals, the blues will get a lot for him.
