I was never good at constantly holding down the run button in Mario games (without dying)

That's cool and all but I like jumping on turtle shells too much.

Re: The Video Game Thread
So my favorite video game forum, neo gaf, has basically imploded. The owner was outed as being a creep. It's also come to light he's posted explicit pics of women on the internet out of revenge. There's been a mass resignation of the moderators. I guess there's a new forum coming called "reset era" from former members.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I haven't put a ton of time into the game really but I did play for three straight hours last night while halfway listening to the WS game. The battery on the Switch was finally down to 14% so I finally had to call it a night. I woke up this morning itching for more but realized that I was better off reading on my way to work rather than getting back into the game. I would have completely missed my stop on the train and ended up at the end of the line in Illinois and had to circle back and be late for work if I started back in during my commute! The Switch is just sitting in my bag behind me begging me to play here at work. I never take an actual lunch break but I think I might take one in a few minutes and go sit outside and play for awhile.Michael wrote:I was obsessed with Stardew Valley for like 8-10 hours then I ran in to a game breaking bug so I stopped. I read it was patched so I might try it again.
Stardew Valley is a super chill game. I wouldn't worry too much about doing something the "right way". There's lots to do, but you can go at your own pace.
I'm just grinding away which should be boring but for some reason it just gets its hooks in you and you can't stop.
One note on the battery life of the Switch, I had heard complaints that it ran dead too quickly but I've been happy with the battery life. I hadn't had it on a charger since Saturday when I let somebody's kid play Mario Kart for about half an hour or so and then it just sat in my bag until last night when I got another full three hours before it hit 14% and I put it back on the charger. I don't know what people really expect out of a handheld gaming device that you can also dock and play on your TV.

I totally understand what you are saying. The cave stuff is totally pedestrian, but I loved trekking there anyway. Rainy days feel so good because it frees up your time to do various tasks.tlombard wrote:I'm just grinding away which should be boring but for some reason it just gets its hooks in you and you can't stop.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I spent a lot of time in the mines last night because I need to get some iron ore to craft sprinklers so I don't waste so much time watering the crops every morning. Unfortunately I didn't realize until later at night that the iron ore doesn't pop up until you get down to the 40th level of the mine or something like that. At least every five levels you get to gives you the use of the elevator to get all the way down. I don't know if I'll get to play tonight but it's time to start just getting as low as I can in the mine so I can get that iron ore. I don't want to have to buy it all.Michael wrote:I totally understand what you are saying. The cave stuff is totally pedestrian, but I loved trekking there anyway. And every morning in the game I pray that it's raining so I don't have to take the time to water everything. I spend WAAAY too much time watering crops.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I became a fan small mobile games 'cause of nice animation, easy gameplay and nice graphics which is very important for me. Some time ago I have read on https://freepps.top/blog/top-10-upcomin ... d-graphics about new upcoming games with HD graphics. Endless Of God game has caught my attention.

Other than the controls being wonky at times that game was great.
