Hopefully justice is done and people don't have to fly off the handle one way or the other. Let the justice system work. But then there's the problem. No side trusts the justice system does it? Earned? Damned if I know.

It's not even the gun laws or what is and isn't self-defense. The reason we have innocent until proven guilty is so that someone who acts in self-defense can go to trial and be acquitted. Whether or not it is self defense should not be decided by the police (the executive branch) but by the courts (judicial). We have checks and balances for a reason.
