It's a very fun game that doesn't wear out its welcome. I love the superhot chant after beating a level.

It got a lot of press because it was made by supposedly an alt right Gamergate guy . I didn't follow the story very closely so I'm not sure how accurate/fair that is.
The reviews have been mediocre.

I'm looking at an Xbox sometime next month. What's the go-to review site nowadays? It's been a second since I did any gaming.

Giant Bomb is my favorite site, but they don't do many actual reviews. Typically, I used metacritic to get a general viewpoint on a game. I guess if I had to pick a single site for reviews I'd go with eurogamer.net
edit - buy gears 4 so we can play some hoard mode together.

Awesome.
If you get an Xbox, they have a thing called game pass. For 10 dollars a month you get access to a ton of games including GoW4 and Halo 5. Microsoft has also committed to adding their future games to the service day 1. For example, Sea of Thieves was released this week for 60 dollars or you can play it on game pass for 10 dollars a month. It makes a lot of sense for someone like you jumping in to this generation late. I'm planning to become a subscriber when Crackdown 3 releases.

I am way behind the times but I finally picked up a copy of Rocket League this afternoon. The guy who sits next to me at work IM'd me a link to Amazon where the game is on sale for $15 and said I should play it on my train trip this weekend so I bought it. I didn't buy it from Amazon because I had a $20 to spend at Best Buy so I got the digital download for free from there. Of course I don't have the Switch with me to download so I'll have to do that as soon as I get home tonight.

So I got it and I'm maybe three hours in. There is little direction, the controls kinda suck, the graphics are decent, and it's slow as hell to progress. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. Not to mention it's REALLY Jesusy.

Oh, okay, that looks like a pretty sweet deal. Eventually, I could use it like I use Netflix - Binge for a month and then drop it till something decent comes along.
I lost access to my old account, so I have to start a new one. I remember you and joce's GT's, so look for a request in a couple weeks.
