Hey, thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna bank on Witcher 3 nd Fallout 4 for sure.
Joce, what is the fighting like on the Batman games? See, I'm a button masher that can't be bothered to learn combos. It's why I shy away from sports games...Just no patience for that, but if it's simple, I do dig me some Batman.

it has a really solid combo system that makes for a fun time, in my opinion. it does have combos but they're certainly not required and i think you'll find it's not difficult to make them happen, even if by accident. i'm looking at footage and getting reacquainted with the games for my reply and yeah, i forgot how fun it is. here's a short clip from arkham asylum*Tambourine Man wrote:Hey, thanks for the input guys. *i mentioned arkham knight in my original reply, the most recent game but you really should start from the beginning with arkham asylum. i should also say there are 4 batman games in the arkham series but i've only played 3. arkham asylum, arkham city and arkham knight (all by studio rocksteady). the 4th, arkham origins (released between city and knight) was developed by a different studio. it's a prequel to asylum. it uses the same style/engine/coding of the other 3 but i just never got to it and it doesn't seem up to par of the other 3 but i've also read positive things on it. anyways, arkham knight was developed for the xbox 1/ps4 generation but they remastered asylum and city into Batman: Return to Arkham, and it has all the dlc, etc so that might be your best bet. the settings get bigger and bigger as they go on, and so do your items, combos, etc so it might be good to start with asylum to get your bearings, etc
they are really well made games and if you are a batman fan there's good references/callbacks or easter eggs to batman lore, etc. its also got mark hamill as the joker and kevin conroy as batman. really good stuff.

also, they gave out witcher 2 as a free game a year or so ago and i played a bit of it and got stuck and just kinda stopped. i enjoyed what i did play and i'm sure i could figure out what i'm doing wrong (with a little online guidance) but just never returned to the game. i should get back in it but eh, maybe....anyways, witcher 3 did look awesome but i never played it. i can offer conans review of it though.
edit:
and heck, here's his fallout 4 review

I'm going to have to get back into Fallout 4. I really enjoyed. I don't want to give away spoilers but once I met what I was working for most of the game I was like "welp, guess I'm done." lol That was before console got mod support too so I need to check that out.

Thanks for the thorough rundown, Joce. Much appreciated. I'm gonna go ahead and buy Arkham Asylum...FYI, I buy all my games used off eBay. Saves a ton of money.Jocephus wrote:*i mentioned arkham knight in my original reply, the most recent game but you really should start from the beginning with arkham asylum. i should also say there are 4 batman games in the arkham series but i've only played 3. arkham asylum, arkham city and arkham knight (all by studio rocksteady).Tambourine Man wrote:Hey, thanks for the input guys. I became obsessed with Fallout 3, to the point of reading walkthroughs and crap to collect every single little trinket in the game. It's the most thorough I've ever been with completing evrything possible and maxing out achievements. I was a lost puppy when I finished.IMADreamer wrote:I'm going to have to get back into Fallout 4. Just to be clear you'll want to look for the duo pack, return to arkham. That one has been remastered for xbox1. Otherwise you'd have to play on 360. I don't believe arkham asylum (the 360 version) is backwards compatible. I see return to arkham, new,on amazon for 21$ so it shouldn't be bad wherever you purchaseTambourine Man wrote:Thanks for the thorough rundown, Joce. Much appreciated. I hadn't played the first two Witchers, so I found this primer to be extremely helpful, but not necessary.Tambourine Man wrote:Hey, thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna bank on Witcher 3 nd Fallout 4 for sure.

Witcher 3 arrived yesterday...I'll definitely check this out before playing. Thanks.Michael wrote:I hadn't played the first two Witchers, so I found this primer to be extremely helpful, but not necessary.Tambourine Man wrote:Hey, thanks for the input guys. Man, this section has expanded quite a bit since I was playing years ago. Gotta be honest, I've barely touched the Xbox since I got it due to painting the living room and media room.Jocephus wrote:ah heck, just look at the deals with gold section
Edit- FWIW, I do not like this dashboard at all.
