Several people are sharing this story about Mike Rowe's latest bit of wisdom:
http://qpolitical.com/24-hours-after-la ... -election/

He's criticizing the celebrities that tell people to get out and vote. They are telling people who are uneducated about the issues to vote. This is a big problem. His advise is that people who are ignorant about the issues shouldn't vote.

While I don't necessarily disagree.............wouldn't it be better advise to tell people to study the issues first, and then go and vote????? I guess I'm not as wise as Mike Rowe.

I won't even touch how he thinks that somehow the 2nd amendment is similar to voting.

He kind of does, doesn't he?
“Spend a few hours every week studying American history, human nature, and economic theory. Start with “Economics in One Lesson.” Then try Keynes. Then Hayek. Then Marx. Then Hegel. Develop a worldview that you can articulate as well as defend. Test your theory with people who disagree with you. Debate. Argue. Adjust your philosophy as necessary. Then, when the next election comes around, cast a vote for the candidate whose worldview seems most in line with your own.”

I saw somebody shared a post with something along the lines of 'when Republicans freed the slaves, this is how the Democrats reacted' on a picture of a KKK rally. Really? Really? Yes, Lincoln was a Republican and signed the Emancipation Proclamation but at the time the Republicans were also for helping those in need and larger government in general while the Democrats were for smaller government.

The roles switched. I don't think a modern Republican has any right to claim Lincoln as representative of their beliefs or what the Democratic party stood for at the time as a reason to bash the Democratic party because sometime in the 20th century the two sides completely flipped sides. If that doesn't tell you that our current two party system isn't about keeping power then I don't know what will. Hey, now they agree with us? How can we blame them for everything... I guess we better switch sides now! I'm sure that probably isn't how it happened and I don't really know but I'm extremely cynical when it comes to politics these days.

I deactivated my account after a 7 month trial run. Such a bizarre uncontrolled mix of noise. It is not as bad as I thought it would be, and no big meltdowns or garbage in my group of friends.

Ignoring it, restraint and controlling the feed make it ok. Personal resolve is of limited quantity, so bye Facebook.

Yeah this seems kind of overly self-important and Facebookey to write this here. But I wanted to let the few Grb FB friends know that if they still want to see pics of the Galoot, trail running [expletive], The Golden Spoon -feel free to PM

this above is great pic, but saddens me because it was taken on hiking trip where my neglicence/stupidity damn near got him killed - all that running in the rocky Ozarks temporarily wrecked his paws almost immobilized him on the trail and lit him up with tick bourne disease.

he's done this [expletive] his whole life. Disappears in the woods and comes out with a sandwich.

This summer. Age is slowing him down a whole lot. Still proud dude though full of hijinks - here is after up and cooling off in my brother's landscaping pond.

BONUS FACEBOOKEY JERRY SPRINGER SHOW !!! We adopted 2 more dogs earlier this year, and have my older daughter's dog over quite a bit. Hoarding
[SHOW]
Image these two are siblings from same litter. They lived/were in adoption program at hotel in Asheville where we vacationed. Many Asheville beers and a return visit and now they are part of the clan too. I never cared for little yapper-type dogs like the chihuahua-looking bad hombre. But that little guy is the sweetest soul.
