Re: First world problems

I haven't gone on a vacation so far this year and I'm kinda annoyed about it. How about a long weekend somewhere nice for me time?

We shall see how that shakes out. I was on the fence today for an impulse buy on some plane tickets for a trip - the prospect of hassle at airport has me opting to drive somewhere closer to home. I don't think the delay will be as bad as hyped, nevertheless. First world problem, yes - but if it gets bad enough - inefficient transportation system is a 3rd world problem.stlouie_lipp wrote: Longer lines at the airport?
YES
Lines are currently twice as long and expected only to increase throughout March (my momma's a GM for an airline in St. Louis).Freed Roger wrote:We shall see how that shakes out. How early should I get there for my flight next week?
I only show up 40 minutes prior - with my connections they let me bring my golf clubs/skulling stuff/hockey gear and tailored suits on as carryon. And for some reason I always get seated next to the chick on the plane that looks most like FRBG, aka TCOTPTLMLFRBG.JackofDiamonds wrote:I mean, I just call her Mom. Depends on if you're a morning/afternoon/evening flight, but she told me to be there 2+ hours before my flight this weekend and I usually show up within 40 minutes of wheels up. Check here before you go: http://apps.tsa.dhs.gov/mytsa/wait_times_detail.aspx
I see the same thing too... even when using the phone as a hotspot so that the tab is getting the data through the phone's data connection which is 80-90% of the time. Even crazier is that I leave them tethered at work instead of using the wi-fi there because the 4G on the phone is faster than the speeds I can get from wi-fi at work.Maclowery wrote:When I get an email or facebook notification, my tablet with its wifi access always buzzes or beeps fifteen seconds or so faster than my phone and its 4G. It's mildly annoying.
That's a cool link, JoD, but is it basically just people randomly reporting in? I'm flying out at 6 am tomorrow so I'm really trying not to get there any earlier than I already have to. Also, does it count as an intl. flight if you change planes domestically first? So freakin' early.JackofDiamonds wrote:I mean, I just call her Mom.
