To tell the truth, I don't like that. Yost took a lot of [expletive] from fans but by and large, he was very successful in his run as the OC. He was responsible for the tremendous QB play Mizzou's had for 10 years (2012 notwithstanding).
The press release cited personal reasons. While I don't know anything other than what's been reported, from what I've read it doesn't sound like he's in play for another job right now.
I will miss the constant surfer references by color commentators.

Actually, didn't Yost play a big role in landing DGB and some of the other recent big name kids? Little stuff like that worries me as much as anything. But I guess I'm a little excited to see who they hire to replace him, too.
In a perfect world, Yost's duties would have been shifted around and he stayed with the program. He brought a lot to the table and seems to be a great teacher of college QBs and a pretty decent recruiter. I am not sorry that he will no longer be calling Mizzou's offensive plays.

I saw this on Twitter a few weeks ago from Matt Sebek:
Matt Sebek ‏
DWI, a divorce & an "alleged" pregnant girlfriend younger than his daughter. Yeah, a scenery change may suit Gary Pinkel.
although if you read the rest of his exchanges, it looks like maybe he was making fun of the rumors? It's a little unclear.

And then there were all the rumors that he was stepping down, which wound up being completely untrue.

Apparently David Yost has been offered the offensive coordinator job at Oklahoma St.

Also, Josh Henson has been offered the Southern Miss offensive coordinator job.

[expletive].
Bruce Feldman ‏@BFeldmanCBS
Arkansas announces Jim Chaney as new QB & OC. He had been at Tennessee.
I don't mind Hill or Henson being the choice but it would've been fun to see what someone outside the system could do, especially someone with a background with offenses similar to Mizzou.

That said, Chaney's offenses had run up some middling numbers until this year at UT.

Looks like it's Henson, and Hill has been promoted to QB coach.
