Re: The 2012 Mizzou Football Thread
Typical Pinkel move going conservative, which is what he's done since that great '07 season. I'm afraid that the program will never move forward if they continue to go the safe route and never take any risks. He should recognize that most of his success at Mizzou has resulted from the risks he's taken (Brad Smith, moving to the spread offense and building the program around Chase Daniel instead of Chase Patton).

If I'm counting right, Mizzou played nine bowl teams and those teams were 8-1 in bowls (with the only loss being Florida's upset). That's pretty incredible.

Speaking of Mizzou, what have they been up to?

Re: The 2012 Mizzou Football Thread
A few WR coach candidates have emerged- some guy from Kentucky this past year (and Tennessee from 1995 to 2005), and another from Iowa (and Michigan 1995-2007).
They had a solid DT commitment from KC decommit in favor of Nebraska.
That's pretty much it. Most of their recruiting class committed early on. They killed it in-state... until their 4-star LB from Kansas City decommitted to go to K-State, and this other guy went to Nebraska. They also lost a 4-star OL commitment from Iowa, who opted for Iowa St. instead. It really blows to lose those dudes, but it's par for the course when you have a [expletive] 5-7 year.

They are still in the running for a couple of pretty good recruits and Franklin is healing up nicely. Getting a little bit of a chip on his "shoulder" and gearing up to prove people wrong. Hopefully the O-line holds up next season.

Hopefully he loses the chip on his shoulder and simply plays like a stud as opposed to a [expletive] next year.

Dave Yost just became inside wide receivers coach at a bottom tier Pac 12 school?

Their head coach is Mike Leach, a highly-regarded spread offense guru. And the biggest reason Yost stepped down was because he had too many responsibilities (offensive coordinator, QB coach, recruiting coordinator) keeping him away from his family.
It makes a lot of sense.

Re: The 2012 Mizzou Football Thread
So, I think Mizzou made the right move going SEC. Had to make the move.
Still, I would be concerned. Rivals has their recruiting class at #42 in the country, which is the worst class coming in from all SEC schools. Including even Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
The league is sick.
