I didn't realize there were such pages and I certainly wouldn't refer to them as "garbage on Facebook" now that I do.

My uncle used to follow some feed with scantily clad women on Instagram until just before Christmas. Apparently he was looking through it one day when he stumbled across some chick in a tiny bikini dancing and touching herself all sexually. It was his daughter. My cousin. He said he's never been back to that feed again.
That's what he gets for being a horrible father though. Well, he was never really a father in anything other than the strictest biological sense anyway. When you say you are going to 7-11 and catch a flight to Vegas instead while your wife and newborn daughter are waiting at home you lose the ability to call yourself a father in my eyes. When he got back they were gone and had moved out of state where her parents were at the time. My cousin is now in Reno but other than a six month period last year she's never lived in this area again. She spent time growing up in Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, Cincinnati, San Francisco and I'm sure i'm missing other stops in between.

I thought about trying to find the picture but that just seems wrong on so many levels so I just made fun of him for a few minutes and moved on. I think it might have even been a short video now that I am thinking about the conversation again. She's definitely a bit crazy so nothing would surprise me. Heck, she literally got arrested for punching her husband right in the nose and then made fun of him at Easter and called him a [femaie part] for calling the cops on her. Would she rather him have hit her back? She's just off the rails and always posting pictures of her with other guys. 95% of the things she posts are pictures of her kids, 1% are pictures of crafts she's made for around the house since you have to be frugal when you have four kids and only one (admittedly good) income. Then the other 4% are of her with other dudes which is just not right. Her husband is a great guy and deserves better than that mess. I've never asked him but I'm pretty sure he's only sticking around for the kids. He can't be happy with how she treats him.

I may be the last person to figure this out, my location on smart phone causes ads to ping me in facebook. I knew that it trolled ads based on web browsing -but this was weird.
I was donating some excess camping gear to a used gear store. I didnt look it up online. This place is tiny. Then next day I get an ad for them.

it also listens to you and reads your text messages.
I was talking to a friend about playing tennis with them via text, open up facebook and BAM an ad for tennis sporting goods.

Does it help if I take the FB app off? I've managed to disable it -which seems to have improved phone power usage. Still can look at FB thru web browser.
Can't figure how to uninstall it yet. A bunch of stuff on FB webpage and the internet, saying uninstall. They make it seem simple - but it isn't readily removable. So my guess is it's pre-installed app and it's still stalking me.

Android? I've got an iphone and disable location services until I actually need it. Google Maps and Yelp are pretty much all I use that need my location and that's a few times a month.

Yep android. as far as I can tell, the app can only be disabled, not uninstalled.
I turned location off. however, I often forget to do that. I use it for maps at least 1 time a week (if in a rush somewhere, I'll check for any redline traffic on google maps).

A techy friend noticed when he would play pandora through his phone on his car speakers, he would notice a 'clitch' sound every now and then. That was an audio file facebook plays to avoid being 'inactive' or shut down. The FB app was looping a blank audio file to trick phones into thinking the app was active and avoid being shut down so it could continuously collect data.
Shady mofos.
