The Halo Infinite campaign is shaping up to be one of that best Halo campaigns ever. The open world and grapple shot are super fun. Gamepass continues to be awesome.

Microsoft plans to buy Call of Duty company Activision Blizzard for nearly $70bn

Microsoft says it plans to buy major games company Activision Blizzard in a deal worth $68.7bn (£50.57bn). It would be the biggest acquisition in the company's history and is expected to be finalised in 2023.

The move means Microsoft will take ownership of gaming franchises like Call of Duty, Warcraft and Overwatch. Microsoft claims it will help them grow their gaming business across mobile, PC and consoles along with providing building blocks for the metaverse. This deal is the biggest in gaming history and comes a year after Microsoft bought another influential gaming company Bethesda for $7.5bn.

Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft said: "We're investing deeply in world-class content, community and the cloud to usher in a new era of gaming that puts players and creators first and makes gaming safe, inclusive and accessible to all."

Activision Blizzard has studios around the world with nearly 10,000 employees. The games Activision Blizzard make, from Call of Duty to Candy Crush, are some of the most popular in the world. The company has nearly 400 million monthly active players in 190 countries and billion-dollar franchises.

On the independent games front, there's a nice, chill open world game called Sable I'd recommend, and available on Xbox GamePass. No combat whatsoever. Probably the first 2d animated game I've seen that made me want to play it, outside of mobile games. Ambient music. Interesting story. I don't know if I'd ever finish it, but if you're looking for a stress free 30 minutes to an hour, it's good. For whatever reason I'm always trying to climb in open world games and that's a major part of this. Climbing AND gliding, so you can play around with both to get where you need to go. Then for longer distances there's a landspeeder kind of thing referred to in the game as a bike.

I just bought a game for Xbox One called Green Hell. It's a survival game in the Amazon rainforest. The inventory management system is unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it. You can look at the different compartments of your back pack. You can interact with a ton of wildlife. You can craft survival items and remedies. It's a little slow and tedious, like DayZ or any other survivalist game. It's early on, but so far, it's the coolest game I've played in years.

The combat graphics are pretty bad, but these games are mostly for the inventory and crafting. I'll play COD if I need to fire off 1,000 rounds.
