I bet Jim Webb would be the choice if he'd take it.

Probably.

DailyKos was down on the Biden pick last night, because he voted for the war and makes it look like Obama is picking him to cover up deficiencies, but I genuinely believe Biden is a good pick. He generates sound bites that will reach the heart of cable news and he has a serious edginess. And I trust Biden dealing with foreign leaders more than Warmongering Maverick.

If I were Obama I'd be a little worried about Biden's mouth. Either saying things he shouldn't say, or things that contradict the White House.

Is he the one that said Obama was "well-spoken" last year?

Yup.

It's one of those gaffes that everyone jumped on and, frankly,
didn't seem bad at all to me.

Barak IS an excellent orator, which is all Biden was saying.
Yeah, but talking before thinking has always been a problem for him.

I remember him threatening to cut someone off during the Anita Hill hearings, and it was literally through gritted teeth. It was like Dirty Harry with a gavel.

This is interesting:
As speculation grows around who John McCain will select as his vice presidential running mate next week, Republican National Committee officials said Tuesday that McCain is no longer considering former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge.

Several sources at the RNC told FOX News that in the last 36 hours, senior McCain advisers and aides have told RNC officials that McCain “got the message” last week that choosing a running mate who supports abortion rights would not be helpful.

I think that seperation from the current president is a big boon for Obama. Bush makes me cringe everytime I hear him speak. However, he was surprisingly coherent in the last interview I saw him in with Costas.

I definitely like the way Obama delivers his message. I just don't necessarily believe him. I also like McCain's sort of regular guy way of speaking, but I don't believe him either.

Either way, we won't look so stupid as a nation at the lectern over the next 4 to 8 years.

We will look stupid if we elect a guy who has accused his opponent of not being patriotic or claims that he would lose a war to win an election. Or...nevermind. This could go on awhile.

Also I heard that Obama had a special procedure so his feces give a peppermint aroma.
