The Boston Bruins are solid 55.3 percent favorites over the St. Louis Blues. The Bruins are favored by AccuScore simulations partly because they have a +1 edge in shots on goal and are projected for 30 shots on goal vs 29 shots for the Blues. The Bruins goalie(s) have the edge in save percentage at 90.4% compared to the Blues goalie(s) who have a forecasted save percentage of 89.6%. KEY PLAYER STATISTICAL DATA --- SAVES: Jordan Binnington 27, Tuukka Rask 26 SHOTS: Vladimir Tarasenko 3.8, Patrice Bergeron 3.5 GOALS: Vladimir Tarasenko 0.46, David Pastrnak 0.47 PTS: Ryan O\'Reilly has a 46% chance of scoring at least 1 point and Brad Marchand has a 58% chance of 1+PTs

I wonder how they come up with the 55.3%. Do they do 10K simulations and the Bruins won 5,530 like in baseball? Here it says the Bruins are favored partly because they have an edge in shots (30-29) though it seems the disparity in save percentage makes a much larger difference in the outcome. Not that it matters, that ASS can [expletive] off.

Just a reminder going into tonights game. Both teams have been in this position (2-2) this postseason and lost a game 5. Boston lost it at home to Toronto in the first round, and the Blues lost it at home to the Stars. So, regardless of what happens, it's far from over (unless the Blues lose of course in which case they'll probably just hand Boston the trophy tonight).

Blues are 2-0 in road game 5's. Boston is 1-1 at home. Put that in your ASS next time.

But yeah, if Boston wins tonight I fully expect them to go ahead and present the cup to them so they can do it at home instead of being inconvenienced by awarding it after game 6 in StL. Boston hasn't had the opportunity to savor a championship in a while, so they deserve this.

Fun fact: Only 5 times in the 13 seasons since the strike year has the Stanley Cup been awarded to the home team.

Agreed. These two day breaks to travel during the SCF have been directly responsible for at least 4 stomach ulcers for me.

Same.

I had a jackass coworker ask me at the start of a meeting today "What would it really do for you if they win? Like, what life altering change would it really make?" I almost told him to fvck the hell off in front of our boss. But I just made a violent raspberry noise with my tongue.

Its given me a crapton of good memories to share with my Dad. No matter our relationship, we've always had hockey to get us through rough patches.

This guy probably really gets into his car, or a tv show or something else that isn't important and is just being a jerk. Everybody has SOMETHING silly they enjoy.

Its been fun bandwagon to hop on. My stepdaughter has always been The Blues fan in the family.

She was going thru a tough time earlier in the year, and as a result was tuning the Blues out during the early part of win streak. I would send her the latest meme or story related to the Blues-the Dad's trip, wins over TB, the streak etc, and of course would copy my Chicago Bro-in law a Hawks fan who likes to rib her about the Blues.

Adnittedly this sounds sexist, but an surprised by how much more she knows NHL than me.(though i am a low bar) for a while I thought she just liked the vibe, and drinking 10 dollar bud lights at the games. But she was lobbying way back on swapping out Jake Allen. She knows quite a bit about non-Blues teams /players

Kind of lucky, that unknowingly got her back vested in this run early. She also emerged stronger from the rough patch coincidentally, and was back full force to her trash talking my Bro-in law meme posting ways. Good times.
She would be the Blues fan I'd like to see enjoy the Cup. Win this out

Exactly. People like that suck and aren't worth your time. Like what you like. I could care less about soccer but my Dad is really pumped about Stl getting a soccer team. Good for him!
