But when I hear some Cardinals fans and members seriously tout the idea that Ludwick is the team's MVP — well, it's looney tunes. Please come back to earth.

I guess then Ludwick is the MVNP: Most Valuable Non-Pujols

[expletive] Gordo is at it again. He states that the Cards need to add "legitimate threats" to the MI, but he does suggest any realistic names. Perhaps he simply forgot that Chase Utley, Dan Uggla, Hanley Ramirez and Jose Reyes aren't available, and this year's offseason pickings will likely consist of O-dog, Mark Ellis, Ray Durham, GrudZ, and perhaps a few others. These guys are decent players, but hardly the "threats" that Gordo suggests that can be conjured out of thin air.
Maybe if I sniff enough nail polish remover and eat some mushrooms I can go to the fantasy land that Gordo inhabits whenever he writes his columns.

Hudson's probably the best second baseman available, but his injury history the last two years and the fact that despite that he'll still get 4/40 or more, makes him probably unobtainable.
Furcal may get 5/70 or more; he's already making $13 million so $14 million a year may actually be low.

Those who are speculating are only guessing.
I'm not going to reveal what I know.
There's no way I'm going to penalize the Post-Dispatch by doing the reporting that others on TV and radio will steal from us.
Sorry.
In time.

what? this doesnt make any sense. you're not going to report something because others may report it after you? i thought people in the media were obsessed with breaking stories first?

That's his point. He wants tomorrow's paper to be the breaking news.
